Ian Estacio is currently a postdoctoral research associate at the Arizona Institute for Resilience, University of Arizona. His research interests focus on the monitoring, analysis, and modeling of socio-ecological systems using spatial science methods such as remote sensing, GIS, spatial statistics, and Agent-Based Modeling. He has used spatial science to address various environmental problems such as degradation in blue carbon ecosystems, urban heat islands in cities, and agricultural abandonment in mountainous landscapes.
